Yarn Over… Pull Through!

Everyone who follows my Instagram knows my love for crochet, so I thought I’ll share it will all my blog readers as well. I’ve been crocheting from last 2 months (almost) and I absolutely adore it!

I learned it from Bella Coco’s tutorial videos. They are the best and she explains each and every step clearly and at an understandable pace. After the initial week or so, the crocheting movements started to come more naturally to me and there began my new and adventurous journey of crocheting. I think now I can make most of the things without even looking at the videos for long.

I absolutely loved it right from the moment I made my first little piece, a small pink rectangle of 6 by 12 chains.

My crochet-hooks set

Initially, I bought the wrong crochet hook of 1.1 mm (as I had no clue that I was supposed to take some particular number.) It was really thin and was an absolute pain in the ass, esp. in the low lights at night. So after about a week, when Vishal was sure I wasn’t going to give up on this “new hobby” of mine, he bought me a beautiful set from eBay (just like Bella Coco’s!)

This set has 12 crochets ranging from 2mm to 8mm crochets (including .5 of each one.) What’s really awesome is the colors of these crochet hooks. They are just beautiful! I really love ’em (thanks a lot, baby!)

3 months back my mother taught me knitting, but god knows why I just don’t like it as much as I love crocheting. So no knitting for me!

Here are a few of the crochet projects that I’ve made:

And here is what I’m presentle working on:

Apart from these, I’m also making a headband, sag beanie and slippers for Vishal, a beanie for my brother and a hopefully a cardigan and more hairbands for myself.

What about you? Do you like crocheting or are you a knitting person?
I’m sure everyone’s mothers and grandmothers might have made a lot of yarn-stuff and I’m all ears when it comes to stories and experiences. So please go ahead and share your experiences with me in the comments section below.

Have a great day everyone!

Ciao ❤

  1. I could never get into crochet or knitting but my mom crochets. My Mom made a doll dress entered it into this year’s fair. She won a blue ribbon! I was going to attach a picture but it doesn’t seem I can do that.

    • Wow! I’m sure it’s amazing… what a shame that WordPress doesn’t allow pictures to be added in the comments. I would have loved to see it. Maybe someday you can share it in one of your blog posts? Let me know if you do share it sometime.
      Thanks for reading!

  2. I had made a muffler with my mother’s help for my school’s art and craft class. Then I had made a scarf. It’s been a long gap that I have forgotten how to do it

    • That’s nice, Priya. I never thought of learning it before (that is when I was with my mom.) Sadly my mom doesn’t stay in Pune, and hence, I had to learn it from online vids, though I learned to knit from her, but as it turns out, knitting is not my thing…
I hope everything’s well at your end.
