Those of you who know me well know that I spend a LOT of time on Instagram. [For those of you who don’t know, I have two Instagram accounts, one is my personal Ig account (authorheenarathore) and the other one is my book blog’s Bookstagram (thereadingbud)]
So yesterday afternoon when I was working on a presentation on my Mac, I received an email from Instagram saying that they’ve changed their look in the new update. Before I even finished reading the entire mail, I jumped up from the bed, grabbed my phone and updated the app immediately. I didn’t even waste a single second as I was really fed up with the old blue theme (which always reminded me of a hospital I visited in my childhood. *shudders*)
As soon as the new update was installed and I opened the updated Ig app, I was spellbound by what I saw in front of my eyes — *drumrolls* — CLEAR WHITE AND BLACK THEME!!!
I was on the 7th sky seeing the new clean design. It might be nothing to a person who hardly checks their Ig, but for someone like me who is on Ig 24/7, it means a LOT!!!!
Thankfully before updating the app I happened to take a screenshot of the old Ig. This is how the old Ig looked like (before yesterday):

I love the new sharp and crispy black and white color scheme and the pink color that they’ve used for notifications and stuff is simply adorable (see the picture below.)
I love this new update and I really feel that now it looks more stylish and beautiful.
I’ve heard that a lot of people hate the new look and that they’d do anything to go back to the old one. Well, I disagree and I’ll be sticking to this new update no matter what.

I agree! Having all these accounts completely drains me, but then I’m a complete fireball when it comes to energy, or so my family says… so I feel happy being drained out this way. I’m afraid of my energyy turning into the negative field, so I try and keep myself occupied.
I love it how I can talk to you so openly about deep stuff like energy and all and how you understand it all. You’re a gem!

As long as it is fun there is nothing wrong with it, Heena! Enjoy the possibilities all these platforms give to you! It is wonderful to have them and the wonderful thing is that there are so many that there is always one especially fitting for a person or their needs! You know I am also on Pinterest, Goodreads, Linkedin, Amazon, Google+,… but I go there once in ages… lol! Yes, I totally understand what you talk about energy. When you are doing something that brings joy to you it is not exhausting but energizing! That’s why we should do what we feel inside and not what others tell us to feel 😊

The new look is fine..but what annoys me most is the sponsored post – it becomes too many and sometimes they are not related to my interests or even relevant to my tags..

I TOTALLY agree with you, Indah! I hate them too… and recently they’ve started to increase by the day! Guess it’s time to write an email to Instagram reporting this!

I don’t have an instagram account so the screenshot really helps me to look on it. I really like the new one. So clean, organized and crisp than the other one.

I like the new look. I think it’s a nice refreshing change. I’m not on there much, I kind of splurge with it. A good new look though. 🙂

The new icon did take my by surprise. I looked at my phone screen and wondered what it was for a start!
I try and get on there, but it’s one piece of social media that does get forgotten. I shall try and make more of an effort. 🙂
