Happy New Year – 2018

I’ve been continuously blogging over at TRB since December and also in the first week of 2018, so it feels weird to do my first post here SO LATE. Still, I have to do it to get past the “first-post-of-the-year” thing and get on with a much defined regular schedule of posts.

Late 2017 proved to be a really busy time for me as we shifted our home and got a kitten, Eva (more on this in my next post!) and everything just got overwhelming. Finally, things have settled into a steady rhythm and now I’m able to think of my weekly schedules and planning things.

For this blog, I’m reviving WOW – Word Of the Week so that at least I’ll have something to post regularly on the blog and also because I’m working on my vocabulary this year. So like before, WOW is going to be a weekly thing. I’m planning to post this every Saturday as Saturdays for me are quite relaxed.

I’ll try and post some short fiction or poems every month and will try and do a monthly round-up post, though I’m not promising anything.

I’m already working on my 2018 BuJo setup, 3 new story ideas and a couple of other things. I’ll be posting about random stuff more this year as my planned and scheduled posts take a lot of time for preps and stuff. And plus, I’ve discovered lately that I love random posts more than the planned ones.

Anyway, so here’s hoping that this year proves to be the best one for all of us. Cheers!

2017 Resolutions

2017 Resolutions

This is the third year I’m doing a ‘Resolutions’ post, so I feel like it’s kind of becoming a ritual now. And I like it as it helps to be more productive.

Every year I complete a few resolutions and forget some, but this year I’ve decided to go through the list of my previous resolutions that weren’t completed and resolve to complete them this year. So 2017 is going to be special as I’ll be doing all the things I’ve been wanting to do from last 2-3 years.

Writing:

  • Complete Sinister Town and hand it over to the editors at Citrus Publishers
  • Get the first half-draft ready for Princess Nymeria series and if possible write the first draft for the first book too
  • Write 10 new short stories (for Blogbattles)
  • Edit the old short stories
  • Carry on the short story series I started (all 3 of them)
  • Write 1000 words 5 days a week
  • Get a short story published in a mag
  • Be regular in emailing my writing accountability partnergiphy-3

Reading:

  • Complete 90 books this year
  • Read at least 12 classics, 25 NetGalley books and finish off all the books I’ve already bought (the ones sitting on my bookshelf) – RMFAO Challenges
  • Read more technical books on writing
  • Read at least 1 biography
  • Finish all the review backlogs200

Blogging:

  • Post more reviews (old and new both)
  • Blog more often (at least twice a month)
  • Make more podcasts
  • Work on YouTube channel
  • Post more fiction stories and flash fiction pieces
  • Start visiting all the blogs and start reading them regularly (like every Sunday or something like that)

Miscellaneous:

  • Watch at least a dozen psychological thrillers (both old and new)
  • Finish Sherlock Holmes, Van Helsing, Under The Dome, Shadow Hunters and other series that I’ve started on NetFlix
  • Take guitar classes (this is already started, my teacher is due to come home to teach Vishal and me from next week)
  • Work on my social anxiety
  • Learn public speaking
  • Follow the pescetarian diet for the entire year without slipping (this gets very difficult especially when you’re married to a big time foodie)
  • Meditate more and learn to let go
  • Take spas and relaxing outstation breaks more oftentenor

That’s about it!

I’ll try and read this post again and again throughout the year so that I can get these things done without forgetting about them.

2016 Resolutions

2016 Resolutions

Last year I made a list of 11 resolutions and I stuck to it till the end (except for the learning German, but I had my reasons.) It made me realise that I perform better if I announce my goals, so here I am with a list of my this year’s resolution. You can read my last year’s resolution list here: 2015 Resolutions.

My 2016 Resolutions:

  1. Prepare for running marathons and participate in one marathon this year (my first ever.)sports-1050966_640
  2. Stick to the vegetarian diet the entire year.life-863705_640
  3. Getting inked – a small tattoo in the memory of, Tiger (my deceased pet GSD.)

  5. Complete the poetry collection.

I’ll try and complete all these resolutions by the end of this year and hopefully, I will, but even if not, trying to fulfill these resolutions will get me closer to my goals. And that is what matters.

2016 is going to be an amazing year, but the only thing you have to do to make it a reality is to believe… So close your eyes for a sec and imagine a wonderful year ahead of you filled with joys and opportunities and I promise it’ll turn into reality in the blink of an eye.

Adios 2015!

Adios 2015!

2015 has been a marvelously splendid year and I am going to miss it dearly! I’ve learned so many new things (about the world and about myself) and have received so many wonderful things from The Universe that I can’t even count them in one go. This year has been the best one so far and I know that the next year will be even more prosperous than this one (for me as well as for all the readers of my blog.)

First of a big THANK YOU to all you wonderful readers. I’m sorry if I haven’t been able to visit your blog since a month or two but I’ll make up for it in the coming month. I promise. I really hope that you guys have a wonderful and prosperous new year and that happiness and fortune always find your doorstep!

Secondly, I’d like to thank The Universe for EVERYTHING, but especially for Deceived (my first book-completed) and Sinister Town (my second book-WIP.)

This year I also read 100 books. Normally it would have been a piece of cake, but as I wrote a full-length novel this year, it proved to be a little difficult by the end. But somehow I managed to complete the Goodreads Challenge and have decided to go for another 100 books for next year.

Hi guys… It’s been 13 days since the new year started and I am totally aware that this must have been my first or second post, but I believe it’s actually never late to do anything good. I made this list on 31st Dec’14 and wrote it on my white-board, but now I really need to clear up the board as I need it to make some notes on a new book I’ve just bought, so I thought I’ll type it up and get a print of it. And as this is my personal blog, I thought this one will make a good post. So here’s my 2015 Resolution’s list:

  1. Maintaining a personal-journal and writing at-least 1 page everyday.
  2. Maintaining a gratitude-journal and writing 10 things that I’m grateful for everyday.
  3. Writing 500 words everyday. And also completing my book!Article

  6. Walking/jogging 6 kms everyday, without exceptions!1
  7. Reading at-least 2 books per week and 100 books by the end of the year.3

For now I have set only 11 goals for 2015, but I guess these will be enough to keep me busy the entire year… 🙂
